My dream turned into a nightmare

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Welcome to my nightmare!!!! My Roadtrek Agil SS is in shop once again. Now, I am looking at upwards of $4000-$5000 fix. Bought this Class B from DeMontrond RV in Houston, TX and paid high $$$$ for 3 different warranties (none of them covering the lithium battery that FELL out from under my van while driving down the Interstate. De Montrond will not answer our calls or return calls any longer! All we were told was that Roadtrek went under and they are no longer covering anything and they refused to touch it. Months later....we have it in a shop in Arkansas and having to pay for everything out of pocket. The least they could do is prorate and refund the difference in my warranty. I dreamed of the Class B for years and now my dream has turned into a nightmare.

Roadtrek Zion nightmare. Been in the shop more than on the road.

Nothing covered by Roadtrek. $5000+ for batteries less than 6 months in.

Brought this nightmare at Transwest Kansas City. Is there a negative star.

unless I'm doing something wrong I can't believe how hard it is to dump with my 190 versatile {2004} the easiest way for me is to lay flat on the ground to complete the task. I've owned several RV's in my lifetime and I'm very aware of the process but the way this unit is hoked up is unreal and I was just wondering If anyone found a modification to this thing?

Welcome to the customer service nightmare.

We purchased a brand new RT in Sandy Oregon, 5 hours from home, and getting our rig serviced is a nightmare. No call backs, EVER. We literally have to show up on their lot and camp out back for days for them to take care of issues (many) with our rig. Would not buy this rig again, my husband is so upset. We now are in southern Ca. with dead battery. Ugh.

Purchased a used RS Adventurous four years ago and have yet to experience a positive dealer/service experience. I recently contacted Roadtrek directly regarding (2) leaking T-vent style windows, their response “take it to the nearest Roadtrek dealer to have windows replaced”. Absurd and insulting, considering what these things cost.

Best of luck on Customer Service ever calling you back. Hope your's not in San Diego area.

LaMesa RV will not touch it and Mike Thompson in Fountain Valley area not far from LA will provide extremely *** service. I only hope it is the vehicle battery and the manuf can replace it.

If not under warranty see dealer, Firestone or local truster auto service facility. Best of LUCK!

Recently was fortunate enough for the last heavy rain in S. Cal.

AS customer service (not sure where) failed to rectify my email of Nov. 13th, and two in Dec about the cracks in the roof of my 210 the complete drivers side wall from front to back has been soaking wet including the jump seat and carpeting, plus one outside compartment with one inch of water, I think R.T. will be the fine owner of this 2016 model.

Attorney sent a letter last week regarding AZ. and Federal lemon law violations.

Fortunate for the last heavy rains in S. Cal.

the complete drivers side of the rv from front to back including cabinet drawers, jump seat, rear carpeting plus one outside compartment (not related to roof cracks) are all water soaked. I want to thank their fine customer service for buying my rv. My attorney (rv company pays his fees) sent the letter last week for R.T. violating both the AZ.

and Federal lemon laws.

I will keep you updated. Remember most lemon laws for most new vehicles is 30 day max for being out of service all at one time.

Cracks in roof/ chrome wheels peeling

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I perched my 2016 in Feb 2017. I needed to have some additional items added. The dealer called the next day telling me I had 3 cracks in the fiberglass top. It was taken to a RV choice of Roadtrek. The cracks were repaired and the roof was completely painted. Three weeks ago I had the vehicle professionally washed and cleaned. Before he started he looked the vehicle over and called me from the the house to look at the wheels where all the chrome was peeling off. He also showed where the roof had 1 crack with spider cracks off of the one crack. Before all of this happened the vehicle had been at the dealers for 6 months. Not bad for owning for 20 months. I sent a email to 3 septs at Roadtrek immediatly. I received a email immediately and was told he relayed the message to the correct dept. and they will contact me. Well 3 weeks later and several rain storms later I am still waiting to be contacted. This appears to be a big problem with Roadtrek. This has been a problem with them previously. The 6 year warranty is what it takes for repairs and then it is your responsibility. I now have 6000 miles on the vehicle. I urge all owners of the 210 units inspect the the vehicle for roof cracks immediately and if you contact me, I think we could do a class action lawsuit against them. nThey have been well aware of this problem. Gary Alderson10@***o. I contacted them 3 weeks ago!!!!! I forgot the clear coat is also peeling off the roof!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great Service!!!!

I am also owner of 201* *** Popular, as we speak the unit is back at the factory for the third time, for stress cracks in the same place. Since I purchased the unit it has been at the factory for a total of six months and still have many of the same issues as the previous two times.

Still not repaired.

Would like to discuss these issues we are both having. Regards, Bob Lawrence

Hi Robert, Received one email from problems 6 week after another email and was told he would get back with me shortly as he was not familiar with the case. No phone or email back..

I did have a dealer call to see but am tied up and will call them back as they did not respond to my voice message. You can call me at 760 685-****. I am thinking f selling as it seems all motor homes have many problems. The Winnebago is nice because it has the original roof.

I had one but was a sprinter and totaled. maybe tat one is better as the Ford can be serviced anywhere if you have any problems. Two friends have the mercedes and spent $1000's on one had many problems. He had a RT.

The other one aha to go 100 miles plus to get his 2019 repaired as many could not fix it.

Please call me any time or email me at garyalderso10@ yahoo.c. Thanks Gary

Out of all their stores from CA to FL not one of them had a 210 available. Contact other Legal Professionals.

Robert, have an attorney review your work orders. They will look at the length of time out of service and also the National Vehicle Lemon Law.

Ck every6thing out.

It has now been 3 months and still no word from customer service. They really enjoy serving their customers!!

Now going on 5 weeks ad another email to Roadtrek and again no response. Attorney will be called today.

210 roof cracks are a common problem with this vehicle. Stay away from this vehicle.

Unfortunately, Roadtrek currently is under investigation for fraud, so the company as a whole is at a hault. They won't disclose warranty claim status updates to anyone, including dealers.

As of January 21, any warrantable repairs the customers financial responsibility.

I would contact Roadtrek yourself. You can try and get reimbursement thorogh small claims court.

Today Roadtrek just had a layoff , 100% of the employees. It's now in the courts for insolvency, so we are all on our own with repairs. 6 year piece of mind warranty is worthless.

I believe there are two companies involved with R.T.The homer group from Europe has owned them for the last couple of years and they recently sold them to Coachman. Hymer held most of the note.

All owners will find out what the six year warranty is really. That's like the life time warranty until out of business!

Sold me a lemon

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Purchased a new 2017 Ct Adventerous been in and out of service for a year! They took back to factory and still electrical issues they can’t fix! Hired a attorney and filed a lemon law claim. Dealing with them has been nothing less than a disaster! DONT BUY a voltstart! The technology is a pipe dream. I guess it’s why others have not got into it! In theory it looked good but practical application is not close. The driver who took mine back to factory said he had taken back several with same issues. Roadtrek has held my life hostage for a year and the stress and anguish it cost me and my family was not worth it! Airstream was my 2nd choice and how many times have I told myself “told you so”

I hope your attorney from the state you purchase it in has some help on state lemon law and/or there is also a Federal law. I am doing both on my vehicle.

150 days out of service and now additional problems Customer Service has not returned an email or call after trying now for 90 days. Not sure how much longer they will be in business.

3 owners in 3 years. Good Luck!

Mine is 129 days in the shop for 392 days of ownership. Details include heat (3 repairs), transmission (replaced), solar+batteries, voltstart (multiple failures), coach AC.

In the shop this month again.

Am actively disrecommending this manufacturer to friends. Post your snippet (days owned, days in shop, bullet point on issues) here....

Roadtrek honors its warranty

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Roadtrek went through some hard times a few years ago. I bought a 2016 model, and E-Trek. It was "cutting edge" with technology so advanced that no one else had it. I live in Silicon Valley and we have a saying: "Cutting edge bleeds." I took delivery with all sorts of problems, but it had a 6 year, apparently unlimited as to what in the coach itself, warranty. It took a lot of time for them, and some effort for me, but now I have exactly what I bought and paid for. This was at the time when Hymer bought out Roadtrek. As a result of that they staffed up. Customer service seems to be available at the factory with minimal delays. I often joked with them that it is actually a 5 year warranty; that first year is while they finished building it after I bought it. But they put in the effort; flying people out from the factory, one of the techs they flew out actually recognized the unit as he had worked on building it. I just returned from a very hard trip that was mad much more bearable by everything working in my 'Trek. No one asked me to write this. I am just trying to balance the scales a bit with an honest review.

Roadtrek has the worst customer service ever. 4 weeks to authorize cracks in roof repaired.

3 weeks on two separate occasions to replace 8 coach batteries. New roof cracks and all chrome wheels peeling. 90 days and several emails and still no response. Non selling dealer refused to even look at vehicle.

6 yr warranty should read 6 years to contact customer! Buy at own risk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To update my situation: I must say that EVENTUALLY Roadtrek completed the work on my unit. It took a few months but they got it back up to "spec".

While it's operational, I love it. My latest fear comes on the heels of the financial scandal that is now haunting the company. IF the North American operation doesn't get included in the purchase by Thor I'm afraid that "Roadtrek, N.A. will not survive.

Of course, that may be the best outcome in the long run. Hopefully some other company (possibly even Thor) will pick up the bankrupt company for pennies on the dollar and revitalize it.

Guest

I certainly hope that I have the same good fortune as you. I purchased a 2016 CS Adventurous on 5/31/18.

I've had nothing but problems with since Day 1. One trip after the purchase from the dealer on the west coast to home on the east coast. After 2 trips to a local dealer for repairs RT requested that they pick up my unit and take it back to the factory so they could bring everything back up to spec. They picked it up on Friday August 30th, telling me that I was on the service schedule for Tuesday 9/4.

As of yesterday, they still haven't even taken a look at it. Communication has been poor at best.

Defective seat covers

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have a 201* 190 Popular Roadtrek bought new which now has 25,000 miles. The captain chair covers have degenerated to where the underlying foam is visible. I spoke with Roadtrek who informed me that there was only a one year warranty. I consulted a reputable upholstery shop who told me that it would cost $1000.00 per seat to redo them. He also informed me that the covers were made from a used leather compound which has been shown to be defective after some use. He stated that he or other shops never use this covering material. This was a defective product and I can not believe that other people are not having this same difficulty. I would like to communicate with anyone who falls in this group. Roadtrek 210

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I purchased a new 2016 Roadtrek 210. I purchased it in AZ. and returned home to CA. Jan 31, 2017. It needed some warranty work and it was picked up by Roadtrek and taken to a approved service center for the work. They had it two days and discovered it had three (3) cracked in the roof. It was then sent to a body shop for that repair. It has now been 5 wks starting 6 wks. We were told it would be finished 3 wks ago. Never heard a word. Sent a email to the rep and was told it would be done the following Wed. No word. Called the factory and was told it would be done Tues and today is Thur. Was told by the factory the works was approved to be done last Thur. 5 wks after it was request approval to do. Was told by the factory they would call last Mon. No call!!!! Communication with Roadtrek is basically none. Any one considering a Roadtrek 190 or 210 Make sure the top is inspected for cracks before purchase. We are about to make are third payment and have not been able to use it. I have requested a new vehicle and was told they would check on that. No Word!! Not expecting one without going thru an Attorney. This is now April 5, 2017

I also have 2016 /210 Popular. Have had unit back to the factory two times for stress cracks in the roof.

They keep the unit for a total of 8 weeks and even had to repaint the entire unit.

The stress crack has just reappeared in the exact same place as the first two times. Also the Volt system is terrible, and unreliable.Numerous ongoing electrical issues and workmanship issues

Rear battery panel fell off

201* 170 Versatile Road Trek Screws loosened on the battery compartment that is behind the driver's side storage compartment. The screws fell off and the Velcro strips did not hold it on, of course. Somewhere on the freeway between Reno NV and Truckee CA (30 miles) is my panel. Road-trek believes I am somehow responsible for this and refuses to cover the $500 cost of replacing the panel. Seems an amateur way to hold on a panel, one screw and Velcro. Has anyone had this happen to their Road Trek? Nothing else to say. Why do I have to have at least 100 words? Nothing else to say, why do I have to have at least 100 words?

Also, not impressed with RT or the dealer service department

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Bought a one year old RT with 11K miles. Seems to be a lemon. Got it from Mike Thompson in Fountain Valley, CA and the service department is so overwhelmed with work that it takes forever to get through on the phone and forever to get work done on the rig. We use the RT very little and sometimes it seems like it spends more time at the Mike Thompson service department than it does at our home. Have only put 4K miles on the rig in the past 15 months since the purchase and it still has problems.

new rt dealer and rt

Bought a used RV from a private party ,and they said it was still under warranty-6000 miles. $120,000 rig- A few minor things wrong, but our new RT dealer said that Roadtrek wont fix them. The problems were caused by the previous owners. Does the warranty go with the owner, or the 2011 Roadtrek? We had an RT before, and loved it, that's why we bought another new to us RT. We guess the company is not what it used to be. This will be the last RT we buy, a new rig should not fall apart.
